I wasn’t always a good student.
In fact, I was often among the bottom three in class. I loved to play, explore, and experiment — not memorise pages of notes.
Once during recess, I missed a whole class because I got distracted watching ants. I was fascinated by how they carried food in perfect order, following invisible paths back to the nest. Everyone thought I was wasting time — but I was actually learning by observing.
I knew my weakness — I was careless and couldn’t focus on repetitive work.
That’s why, even in my early years, I could never score 100 % in Maths no matter how easy the questions were. I’d always miss something small. But I also discovered my strength — I was curious, adventurous, and always searching for smarter ways to learn.
When I reached university, that mindset evolved.
While most students wrote notes nonstop, I didn’t. I listened, thought, and connected ideas in my head. I focused on understanding — not copying. That habit of thinking deeply instead of memorising shaped how I learn, and later, how I teach.
I began to notice how powerful that kind of learning was. When I understood something deeply, it stayed with me forever — no memorising needed.
I wanted others to feel that same spark — that “Oh, I get it now!” moment that changes everything.
That’s when my interest in Science became something bigger: a mission to help others learn with clarity and joy.
Over the years, I developed a strong passion — almost an obsession — for helping students truly understand.
Their “aha!” moments became my biggest reward. I began to study how students think, how they get stuck, and how to guide them to clarity. Eventually, I turned my own way of thinking and learning into a teaching framework — and that’s how Owlbama was born.
As someone who once struggled with learning, I know exactly how it feels to sit in class, trying your best but still not “getting it.
That’s why I built Owlbama — to make sure no student has to feel that same frustration.
For me, teaching isn’t just a job; it’s a personal mission. Every time I see a student’s face light up with that “Oh, now I understand!” moment — that’s my biggest reward.
I believe that with the right explanation, every student can learn — and even enjoy — Science.
Because when learning finally makes sense, confidence follows naturally.
